The sentence concerns Russian Vitaly Aleksandrovich Rustanovich, who was stopped at a checkpoint at the Storskog border station in Finnmark on his way to Russia on 11 October. During the check at Storskog, the police found large amounts of data on hard drives and several drones in the luggage. He has now been sentenced to unconditional imprisonment for 120 days, with a deduction of 49 days at sentencing. According to the verdict, he has flown with a drone 47 times in Norway in the period between 27 August and 11 October. The case against Rustanovitch, who is a Russian and Israeli citizen, started in the Oslo District Court on 24 November.
