27 November 2022 at 10:25 Bellona pulls out of Russia For over 30 years, the Bellona Environmental Foundation has been active in Russia. The activity has now been discontinued, they state in a press release. – Bellona finds it tragic to end our work in Russia. The war makes it impossible to continue, says Bellona founder Frederic Hauge. Bellona will continue to work with Russian environmental challenges, but the working methods are changing. They have now established a new office in Vilnius in Latvia. There, Bellona’s experts will continue their work after leaving Russia. – We have been keen to retain our expertise and will use it to assist Ukraine, while at the same time we must prepare for the increased security risk at the Russian nuclear installations and waste storage facilities, says Hauge.
