Naim Darrechi Arrest: Claims of Evidence Tampering in CDMX Incident

The Incident at Mexico City Airport

Naim Darrechi, a well-known influencer, was arrested at Mexico City’s airport following allegations made by a flight attendant from Viva Aerobús. The attendant accused him of smoking a cannabis-based vaping device during a flight from Puerto Vallarta. As a result, Darrechi was taken into custody by naval officers right after the flight landed.

Allegations from Sol León

Sol León, another influencer who was on the same flight, asserted that the electronic cigarette found was not in Darrechi’s possession. According to her, the device was abandoned in the seat net, which she believes suggests it was “planted” on him. As the situation escalated, León took to social media, broadcasting live from the CDMX Attorney General’s Office, gathering over 200,000 viewers to support Darrechi.

León claimed during her live stream, “Naim grabbed it, he was going to give it to Katy. The flight attendant asked for it, he gave it to her. Everything was normal,” emphasizing that the crew recognized them before boarding.

Security and Legal Concerns

León recounted how they had cleared all security checks without incident, and yet upon their arrival in Mexico City, they were inexplicably detained on the plane by agents with a mocking attitude. She deplored the lack of access to lawyers and noted that Darrechi had existing medical conditions documented by a psychiatrist, which they presented to authorities during the incident.

The lawyer Victor Carrillo Estrada, who has taken on Darrechi’s defense, indicated that the manner in which Darrechi was held was illegal. He stated, “More than four hours in which they brought him from one authority to another… in no way can the Public Ministry qualify a retention.”

Escalation and Physical Confrontation

León reported an altercation between her group and the flight staff, claiming that she was physically assaulted by a flight attendant during the chaos. This confrontation sparked a more extensive public outcry, with León vowing to fund all legal proceedings against those involved. “I pay for all the legal procedures. This is an outrage,” she declared.

Demands for Accountability

León directed her outrage towards Mexican authorities, particularly Omar García Harfuch, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection. Her criticisms of the involved agents were vehement; she referred to them as “criminals in uniforms,” furthering her campaign for public accountability. She even urged her followers to tag various officials, including the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, in an effort to dismantle what she described as “criminal operations” by authorities.

Conclusion

As the incident unfolds, neither the airport authorities nor the capital’s officials have released any formal statements regarding the arrest. The situation has raised questions about the treatment of influencers in the public eye and the measures taken by law enforcement in such high-profile cases. With ongoing legal battles and public protests, this story is far from over, reflecting broader issues of accountability and justice within the system.
