19 November 2022 at 11:38 Africa’s richest woman wanted by Interpol Isabel dos Santos, known as Africa’s richest woman and daughter of Angola’s former president Jose Eduardo dos Santos, is internationally wanted by Interpol. The arrest warrant was issued after Angola’s public prosecutor’s office asked Interpol to “find, apprehend and hand over” dos Santos to them, Reuters reports. According to Portuguese news agency Lusa, dos Santos is wanted for various crimes, including alleged embezzlement, fraud, influence peddling and money laundering. Dos Santos is the daughter of Angola’s former president Jose Eduardo dos Santos. She is accused of having greatly enriched herself during the decades her father was in power. Dos Santos has consistently denied any wrongdoing and dismissed all accusations as a politically motivated witch hunt. (NTB)
