The esteemed bullfighter, who transitioned from the arena to agricultural life, is currently hospitalized at Miguel Servet University Hospital in Zaragoza after a severe mishap on his cattle ranch.
The incident occurred in the town of Ejea de los Caballeros, where circumstances are still unclear. Álvarez reportedly fell into the drum of a livestock feed crusher, leading to catastrophic injuries to his lower extremities. The violent mechanisms of the machine inflicted wounds that are being described as extremely serious, leaving the bullfighter in critical condition.

The severity of Álvarez’s injuries necessitated an urgent response from emergency services, including the deployment of a medical helicopter. Early medical assessments revealed a devastating “loss of substance” in both legs, indicating that the machinery did not merely create cuts but actually tore away muscle and dermal tissue.
