There were five people in the car which collided with a train in the tunnel. The police received information about the accident at 4.30 on Saturday morning. On Saturday morning, the police confirmed that one person has died after the accident. According to the police, the car was driving in the wrong direction inside the tunnel. One of the people in the car was trapped. The person was pronounced dead at the scene. The other four from the car were sent to Ullevål hospital with injuries. Came in the wrong direction The driver of the train was not seriously injured, the police say. – The trailer driver is slightly or not physically injured, but of course affected by the incident, and is taken care of by his health, says operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter to news. The police have a fairly clear picture of what happened before the accident, after looking at video footage from the tunnel. – It shows that the passenger car has unfortunately arrived driving in the opposite direction, i.e. in the wrong direction, in the tunnel, says Nysæter. He says that the accident analysis group from the National Road Administration came to the scene to assist the police. The Accident Investigation Board has also been notified of the accident. At 07.47 the police reported that the road had been cleared and was open to traffic again.
