Presnel Kimpembe Says Farewell to Paris Saint-Germain

After  twenty years  at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), central defender  Presnel Kimpembe  has officially closed a significant chapter in his life. From joining the club as a ten-year-old in  2005  to his recent transfer to  Qatar Sports Club , Kimpembe’s journey symbolizes dedication and loyalty. In a touching farewell video shared on his social media, Kimpembe expressed his profound gratitude to supporters and reflected on his incredible journey at the  Parc des Princes .

In his emotional message, Kimpembe said: “Hi family, Parisian people. A new page is written, another turns. I am very proud to have been part of this large family in Paris Saint-Germain. It was an honor to defend these colors for so many years. There have been fights, joys, successes, incredible emotions and very beautiful encounters.”

The devotion of Kimpembe to the club was notably evident as he thanked everyone associated with PSG—from the coaching staff and teammates to the management. However, it was his heartfelt acknowledgment of the supporters that resonated the most: “A huge thank you also to the supporters: without you, we are nothing. It was an honor to live these moments with you, whether in the Parc des Princes or outside.”

A Deep Appreciation for the PSG Community

Kimpembe’s gratitude extended beyond the pitch. He made a special mention of the  PSG Foundation , where he served as a godfather, highlighting the importance of the work done with children: “To educators, supervisors, and children, I mean you are magic. Continue to believe in your dreams, I wish you the best for the future.”

21 Trophies: A Legacy to Remember

As the 30-year-old defender departs, he leaves behind an outstanding legacy of  21 trophies  earned with PSG, including  8 Ligue 1 titles ,  5 Champions Trophies ,  4 French Cups , and  3 League Cups . Notably, he was part of the squad that clinched the  Champions League  title in  2025 , an achievement he dedicated himself to through hard work and perseverance.

Throughout his tenure, Kimpembe stood out as a formidable defender, having learned the art of the game under renowned players like  Thiago Silva  and  Marquinhos . Not just a talented player, Kimpembe’s career has been marked by pivotal moments, including his impressive performance against  FC Barcelona  in February  2017 , where he effectively managed to stifle the legendary  Lionel Messi  during his first Champions League match.

Challenges and Resilience

However, not all moments of his career were smooth sailing. A severe  Achilles tendon injury  in February  2023  sidelined Kimpembe, preventing him from regaining his spot in  Luis Enrique’s  starting lineup. Despite the setbacks, his presence was always felt, particularly when he raised the  Champions League  trophy, a moment symbolic of resilience and determination, even if he had minimal on-field contributions during that season.

Kimpembe’s farewell was marked by a promise to his fans, stating: “It’s just goodbye, we’ll see each other soon. Thank you all, good luck, and see you soon.” This poignant remark signifies not only the closing of a chapter but also Kimpembe’s commitment to the PSG community that has been an integral part of his journey.

Although Presnel Kimpembe is moving on to a new opportunity in Qatar, his historical significance and emotional ties to PSG will forever hold a special place in the hearts of fans. His legacy at the club is not merely about the trophies won but also the relationships forged and the memories created over two decades. As he embarks on this new adventure, Kimpembe will always be remembered as one of the shining stars in PSG’s illustrious history.
