Renfe is set to celebrate the  40th anniversary  of its flagship tourist train, the Al-Andalus, with an impressive renovation ahead of the 2026 season. This exclusive  luxury train  offers an experience akin to the “ Slow Luxury ” era, comparable to the prestigious services provided by international luxury operators like Belmond Train, a subsidiary of LVMH. Their offerings include timeless travel experiences aboard iconic trains like the Orient Express and the Britannic Explorer.

For its 2026 season, the Al-Andalus will expand its route to include  historical and cultural destinations  across Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, and the Community of Madrid. This itinerary invites travelers to explore the  rich heritage  and culinary treasures of southern Spain, offering an exceptional journey inspired by the elegance of a different era.

Beginning in 2026, the Al-Andalus journey lasts for  seven days  and  six nights , showcasing the beauty of Andalusia, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, and Madrid. Key stops include some of Spain’s most iconic cities such as  Jerez ,  Cádiz ,  Sevilla ,  Córdoba ,  Toledo ,  Aranjuez ,  Cáceres , and the capital city of Spain. Each stop is laden with cultural and historical significance, making this journey truly enriching.

This voyage maintains its traditional length, during which time flows differently. Passengers can relish the spectacular landscapes, cultural landmarks, and an elegant ambiance reminiscent of the early 20th century.

The Al-Andalus is recognized as the longest train on Spanish tracks, measuring an impressive  450 meters , equivalent to a  150-story skyscraper . This luxury train comprises  14 cars  and accommodates  64 passengers , providing ample comfort and space. Its amenities include a kitchen car, two exquisite restaurants, a bar, a game room, and  seven luxurious suites  designed for relaxation.

The  Standard Class  is approximately  6.58 m²  featuring two individual beds, inclusive of meals, excursions, and toiletries. The  Deluxe Suite  is slightly larger, at  8.26 m² , with personalized amenities including private bathrooms with hydromassage showers, along with attentive services to enhance comfort.

Luxury Travel: A Price for Everyone

Experiencing the Al-Andalus is indeed a luxury that comes with a price tag. For the  2026 season , rates vary between  5,000 and 14,000 euros , depending on accommodation preferences. A  Double Class Cabin  costs  13,200 euros  for two, while individual rates reach  11,200 euros .

For those seeking the ultimate experience, the  Deluxe double cabin  is priced at  15,800 euros , with an individual rate of  13,800 euros . This luxurious option includes a private bus service alongside the train for excursions, multilingual guides, security services, and complimentary train transfers at both the start and finish of the journey.
