He ran in at 2.01.10 on Sunday, and he thus improved his own world record by 29 seconds. His previous record was 2.01.39, set in Berlin four years ago in 2018. Teammate Mark Cohir was closest to Kipchoge in Berlin on Sunday, but was 4.49 minutes behind. Eliud Kipchoge has four victories in the Berlin marathon (2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022).
