Ciudad Juárez lived through a night marked by violence , as five men were murdered in four separate armed attacks that occurred within a span of less than three hours. This information was reported by personnel from the Ministerial Police.
The first incident took place at 8:57 PM in the La Cuesta neighborhood, specifically at the intersection of Sierra Madre del Sur and Cerro Coronel streets. In this location, a man identified as Octavio Casas Vera, 48 years old, was shot in front of his home by two armed men.
According to the police investigation, the victim sustained gunshot wounds to the face and was identified by his 78-year-old mother, who suffered an emotional crisis and required medical attention.
At 9:27 PM, a second attack was reported in the parking lot of a shopping center located at Waterfill Avenue and Río Bravo. Preliminary reports indicated that an unidentified man was inside his truck when he was attacked by two assailants.
One of the assailants wielded an assault rifle , while the other carried a 9mm pistol . The victim was shot in the head and the left arm .

The third homicide occurred at 9:40 PM, inside the Sendero shopping mall in the Valle del Sol neighborhood. Police investigations indicated that a man entered the mall asking for help because someone was chasing him. Shortly thereafter, this individual was shot multiple times in front of witnesses, leaving him lying in a mall corridor.
Finally, at 10:37 PM, witnesses from the area along with municipal police reported that two unidentified men were shot while conversing outside a home in the Hacienda de las Torres Universidad neighborhood.
Both individuals were rushed to the General Hospital No. 66 of the IMSS, where they died upon arrival due to gunshot wounds to the head, torso, and side.
The State Attorney General’s Office reported that with these events, the total number of intentional homicides in Ciudad Juárez has reached 40 so far in June.
In recent incidents, coordinated operations involving the Army, National Guard, and State Police successfully seized military-grade weapons in response to social demands for extreme security.
Security elements from state, municipal, and federal agencies confiscated an arsenal during an operation in response to a report of armed confrontation in Guachochi municipality, Chihuahua state. The intervention resulted in the seizure of long firearms , cartridges, explosives , and tactical gear.

The main security problems in various regions of the state include armed confrontations between criminal groups , extortion, kidnappings, and property crimes. The region is considered a strategic geographical point for drug trafficking and control of routes to the United States border, which intensifies conflicts between criminal organizations.
In response to this situation, state and federal authorities have deployed security forces, including members of the National Guard and the Mexican Army, to attempt to contain the violence .
