The police in Trøndelag warn boys and men against sexual blackmail – news Trøndelag

news has recently mentioned that the police are experiencing a large increase in inquiries from desperate girls and women who experience having their names posted on forums for nude pictures online. Here, Norwegian men collaborate to find nude photos of girls and women, where full names, age, place of residence and photos are posted. – It has been especially now in the last few days that we have received a lot of inquiries about this, said Anita Kjønnøy, head of the online patrol in Trøndelag police district to news. Now the police are also warning that several boys and men have recently experienced being sexually blackmailed. This has happened after being tricked into sending nude photos or masturbating on webcam to what appear to be girls of the same age. – This applies to the whole country, says Kjønnøy. Organized criminals The police have recently received several inquiries from people in Trondheim between the ages of 14 and 35. It is said to be over ten inquiries in which men are said to have been pressured for money, after being tricked into sexual activity on a webcam. It has appeared as requests from young women, but in reality has been from organized criminals, the police say. After the conversation has ended, the men and boys have received demands for money, with threats that the video will be shared with the entire friend list if they do not pay. – We fear that there are large numbers in the dark, and feel that this is shameful and difficult to talk about for those who are exposed to this, says senior police officer and specialist in Nettpatruljen in Trøndelag, Anita Kjønnøy. Krüger / news Kripos: increase in several countries Kripos is also concerned about the increase in sexual extortion. In a press release, they write that young boys as young as 14 are pressured for money by what appear to be organized criminal groups. Both Kripos and police authorities in other countries have recently seen an increase in cases where young boys are pressured for money after sharing pictures of their penis or masturbating on a webcam. – The boys are immediately exposed to a demand for money, with threats that the photos will be shared publicly if they do not pay. The perpetrator is often persistent by sending many messages, probably to further stress the victim, says police officer Thale Parker at the section for internet-related abuse at Kripos. Urges caution The police urge boys and men to be very careful when chatting and having video calls with people they do not know or have met. The blackmail often starts with an invitation to the men to chat privately. – These are organized criminals who appear very credible, until the video call is over and the demand for money arrives. As we discover new cases in Trøndelag every day, we want to warn against this. Don’t be fooled, says Anita Kjønnøy. They encourage anyone who has been exposed to this to talk to someone they trust. Although it can be shameful, it is important not to sit alone with experiences, the police write in a press release. – The police take this seriously, because it violates the body and sexuality of children and young people, and can affect mental health. The police can put victims in contact with emergency services and investigate the cases, also in collaboration with other countries’ police, says Anita Kjønnøy. The police with more advice The police have a number of advice to avoid becoming a victim of sexual blackmail: Be conscious of what you share Consider hiding your friend list on social media A closed profile makes it more difficult for criminals Be careful if someone you don’t know makes direct contact or wants a private chat This is the advice to the police if you are exposed to sexual blackmail: Break contact with the person Avoid paying – there will be new demands Talk to someone and get help Report the matter to the police
