In a remarkable revelation, Claude François Jr. announced that he is contemplating the purchase of the renowned  Moulin de Dannemois , the former residence of his father, the legendary French singer  Claude François . This announcement came during his recent appearance on the Buzz TV program by  Le Figaro , where discussions about the singer’s storied past and his family’s ongoing connection to it took center stage.

As his father’s legacy permeates through generations, François Jr. is not only focusing on the revival of the Moulin but is also preparing for a sequel to the  Claude François cruise  set to embark on  October 11 . This innovative approach to celebrating his father’s work reflects a longing to connect with the fans who have kept his father’s music alive.

A Second Edition for the Cruise

“A friend suggested that he would organize an 80s cruise. The energy in his pitch resonated with me,” shared Claude François Jr. He believes that the existing rituals surrounding his father’s memorial, which include gatherings at the Moulin each  March 11 , have a solemnity that doesn’t align with the joyful spirit embodied in his father’s music.

“Therefore, a  boat cruise  perfectly captures that light-hearted essence. It can be a genuine meeting point where I can engage not only with the fans but also with their shared experiences of my father’s music. This was precisely the case in last year’s event,” he elaborated, emphasizing the community spirit that these events foster.

The Moulin de Dannemois: Soon to be Purchased by Claude François’s Son?

In conjunction with the cruise, Claude François Jr. is actively working on finalizing the acquisition of the  Moulin de Dannemois , which holds deep sentimental value as it was where the singer lived for many years. “I am working on acquiring it,” he stated decisively. “There isn’t a  Graceland  in France—the kind of place where music lovers can celebrate an artist’s life and works. The current owners, the Lescure family, have done an incredible job maintaining the estate over the past twenty-five years,” he noted.

François Jr. expressed optimism about the acquisition, mentioning, “The negotiations are in a favorable phase, but time is of the essence.” His vision for the Moulin is nothing short of ambitious. He dreams of transforming it into a  “Graceland à la française,”  but with an emphasis on the hospitality that his father was famous for. “This will not merely be a museum. I envision  guest rooms, a performance venue , and an engaging space where people can experience my father’s world, as if they were guests in his home,” he explained.
