Rust (Baden-Württemberg) – Germany’s largest amusement park (six million visitors annually) now has a Wild West town.

The newly designed  Silver Lake City , covering around ten hectares, has officially opened and primarily caters to overnight guests. Park Director Roland Mack has overseen the construction of 36 western-themed houses (17 square meter cabins accommodating four people, and 29 square meter cabins for six) and 68 new caravan pitches.

In the coming year, the Riverside Western Lodge Hotel will add 120 rooms along with its own brewery, expected to produce 30,000 liters of beer annually, served at the adjacent bar.

The new minigolf area spans 650 square meters, located next to the new overnight cabins.

Overnight Stays in the Western Town from 300 Euros

The cabins in Silver Lake City (starting from about 300 euros per night for a family of four) are arranged around a new 650-square-meter  minigolf course .

Additionally, the complex features:

  • Wild West Restaurant (475 seats, buffet for 39.50 euros including non-alcoholic beverages)
  • Wild Horse Bar (120 seats)
  • Adventure Playground featuring a steampunk engine.

The dining facilities will officially open on June 2.

A  swimming lake  is also part of the area, with weekend events including campfires, live music, and lasso shows. “It has become a new thematic area,” says Park Director Mack. “And we are not done yet.” So far, 140 new jobs have been created in this expansion.

No Ticket Required for New Themed Area

Previously, the Silver Lake City area featured a small tipi village and caravan pitches for overnight guests. In just one year of construction, it has transformed into a  Western town . By 2026, up to 2,000 guests will be able to stay there. The area is open to everyone, meaning no ticket is required for entry into the Europa-Park.

The buffet restaurant is designed to look like an old Western train station.

This year, the amusement park is celebrating its 50th birthday, focusing mainly on European themes. Monaco will join in 2026, marking the 18th country represented in Rust (Baden-Württemberg) — the question arises about the integration of a Wild West town amid these updates.

According to Park Director Mack, historical reasons inspired this addition. In 1820, there was a  famine  in Baden, forcing many to emigrate. For those who returned impoverished from America, the community had previously allocated a plot near the current amusement park, named New America.
