Champions League Final Preview: PSG vs Inter Milan
As we approach the Champions League Final, excitement is building among fans and analysts alike. Scheduled for this Saturday evening in Munich at 21h, the match will feature two powerhouse clubs: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Inter Milan. With only three days to go, both teams are putting the final touches on their preparations, and the initial trends for their line-ups are starting to take shape.
PSG’s Squad Readiness
At PSG, the mood in the training camp is largely optimistic. All key players, apart from Presnel Kimpembe, are available for selection. However, even if Kimpembe were fit, he likely wouldn’t make the starting eleven, given his recent form. On the more positive front, Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has returned to full training after missing the French Cup final due to a migraine. His comeback is considered timely for this high-stakes match.
The expectation is that Kvaratskhelia will start on his favored left flank. Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembélé is guaranteed a spot in the attack, but uncertainty looms over who will take the remaining forward position alongside him and Kvaratskhelia.
Barcola or Doué?
The intriguing question ahead of the final is whether Bradley Barcola or Désiré Doué will join Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia in the attack. Barcola stood out in his last performance against Reims, contributing two goals and an assist. Doué also impressed, delivering two assists. However, there’s a critical decision to be made regarding the right-central defender role, with a contest between Yann Aurel Bisseck and Benjamin Pavard, who hasn’t played since April 27.
Pavard has recently rejoined the group after an extended absence and has communicated to the media that he is fit for this major encounter. Reports suggest he is in pole position to secure that crucial defensive spot in the three-man central defense.
Furthermore, Lautaro Martinez, who had a break since the semifinal second leg against Barcelona, has resumed training and is expected to start as captain for Inter. While he claims to be fully fit, a lack of competitive match rhythm may be a concern, given the substantial gap since his last appearance.

J-3 avant la tant attendue finale de Champions League entre le PSG et l’Inter Milan à Munich. Pour patienter d’ici samedi soir, nous avons décidé de nous pencher sur les compositions probables des deux équipes dès ce mercredi, soit au lendemain de la reprise de l’entraînement côté parisien (l’Inter a repris lundi après avoir joué vendredi dernier).
Au PSG, tout le monde est disponible à trois jours de la finale, à l’exception de Presnel Kimpembe, qui n’aurait de toute façon pas joué s’il avait été apte. La bonne nouvelle concerne Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, qui après avoir raté la finale de Coupe de France contre Reims en raison d’une migraine, a repris normalement le chemin de l’entraînement mardi.
Le Géorgien est pressenti pour démarrer la finale de Champions League face à l’Inter Milan, probablement sur son côté gauche préférentiel. Il n’y a évidemment pas de débat sur la titularisation d’Ousmane Dembélé dans l’ax, mais un gros doute en revanche sur l’identité du troisième attaquant parisien titulaire.
Barcola ou Doué pour accompagner Dembélé et Kvara ?
Bradley Barcola a brillé contre Reims samedi dernier (un doublé et une passe décisive), tout comme Désiré Doué (deux passes décisives), et les deux internationaux français sont en balance pour démarrer contre l’Inter Milan, a priori sur le côté droit de l’attaque.
Pour le reste de la composition parisienne, il n’y a absolument aucun doute à trois jours de la finale. Gianluigi Donnarumma sera évidemment titulaire dans les buts et protégera une défense classique composée d’Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho et Nuno Mendes, de droite à gauche.
Au milieu de terrain, pas de surprise non plus en vue. On retrouvera João Neves au poste de relayeur droit avec Vitinha en sentinelle et Fabian Ruiz en relayeur gauche. Sorti du banc en fin de match contre Reims samedi dernier, Warren Zaïre-Emery n’a joué qu’une minute lors de la demi-finale contre Arsenal (aller et retour compris) et 18 minutes contre Aston Villa.

Du côté de l’Inter Milan, Simone Inzaghi a encore pu compter sur un groupe au complet ce mercredi à l’entraînement et devrait aligner comme toujours son équipe en 5-3-2 (voire 5-2-3) face au PSG. La seule grande incertitude côté italien concerne le poste d’axial droit, avec un duel entre Yann Aurel Bisseck et Benjamin Pavard, qui n’a plus joué depuis le 27 avril.
Pavard plutôt que Bisseck pour PSG/Inter ?
Mais le défenseur central français est revenu dans le groupe depuis plusieurs jours et a assuré ces dernières heures à M6 qu’il était totalement apte et prêt à jouer cette finale. Selon la presse italienne, il tient la corde pour être l’axial droit de la défense à trois intériste contre le PSG.
Couvé lui depuis le 6 mai et la demi-finale retour remportée 4-3 contre le Barça, Lautaro Martinez a également pu s’entraîner normalement avec ses coéquipiers depuis la fin de semaine dernière et sera titulaire et capitaine ce samedi soir à Munich. S’il a fait savoir qu’il était à 100%, l’attaquant argentin manquera forcément de rythme après 25 jours sans jouer.
