Prince William is launching Guardians, a six-part docuseries showcasing the tireless efforts of rangers in protecting our planet. Episode Details and Premiere

The inaugural episode, developed in collaboration with the Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife program and co-produced with studio Zandland, will be available from Friday. New episodes will be released on a weekly basis. According to BBC Studios, the docuseries aims to “redefine our understanding of rangers and the protectors of nature, driving recognition and pride in the vital yet unseen work they do to protect our planet.”

“I have had the privilege of meeting many rangers throughout my life and have seen firsthand the vital work they do,” Prince William stated. He highlighted the often-overlooked stories of these environmental defenders, saying, “The reality is that protecting our natural world has become one of the most dangerous jobs on the planet. We need to understand and recognize nature’s guardians and the critical work they do.”

Set high in the Spiti Valley, this episode explores how rangers are promoting co-existence between local communities and the majestic snow leopards, also known as the “Ghosts of the Himalayas.”

3. Mexico’s Sea of Cortez: Protecting an Ecosystem

Once dubbed “the world’s aquarium,” this episode highlights a former illegal fisherman now devoted to protecting the endangered ecosystem of the Sea of Cortez.
