Help create the world’s best campaign!

The World’s Best News is an information campaign that conveys progress and positive news about global development. The aim of the campaign is to promote constructive journalism and inform Norway’s population with positive news from around the world, which would otherwise not make the headlines. In 2022 we organized our first traditional campaign in two years and we were finally able to get together and distribute our physical newspaper again. We will do this in 2023 as well! Would you like to help design our campaign? Learn about communicating constructive journalism? Or help to get even more people involved in the campaign? Then you must join one of our three working groups! The campaign starts in May, but activities and news will also be spread throughout the year. THE THREE WORK GROUPS: The news group: Responsible for the production of news stories for the campaign and content for the website verdensbestenyheter.no and social media throughout the year. We are looking for you who like to write, translate news articles and have experience with or want to learn more about news dissemination and publishing online. Journalism students are encouraged to apply. The events group: Works to spread knowledge and information about the campaign through the planning and implementation of professional events, creative stunts and inspiring presentations. The campaign day group: Works, together with the coordinator, to ensure that the campaign day is as good as possible. That includes engaging the volunteers, and coming up with cool plans for the campaign day for the central and local links. The group also works with material and merch. As a volunteer in Verdens Beste Nyheter, you will gain useful experience in project work and many opportunities for competence development. You will also become part of a pleasant and social environment with many other committed volunteers. SIZE OF THE POSITION The position lasts until the middle of 2023. It is expected that you can attend group meetings 1-2 times a month and follow up on your areas of responsibility in the meantime. The workload will vary in periods and increase as the campaign period approaches. There are different responsibilities within each group, and these are distributed among the selection so that you get to contribute what you think is fun and rewarding! HOW TO APPLY? Does this sound interesting? Submit a short application text (max. 1 page) to [email protected] Write something about yourself and your background, why you want to join, and which group you would like to join. DEADLINE: 2 October 2022 If you have questions or would like more information, please send an e-mail to [email protected]
