5 September 2022 at 18:24 This is how the anti-doping crisis will be solved Anti-doping Norway (ADNO) and the Norwegian Sports Confederation (NIF) have on Monday agreed on a proposal on how to solve the anti-doping crisis in the short term. ADNO has created a consent form that the special federations and some top clubs are tasked with sending out to all guardians of underage top athletes and which is covered by Antidoping Norway’s definition of top sports. As soon as consent from guardians has been received, these will be sent to Antidoping Norway so that testing of underage athletes can start immediately. If athletes do not have the consent of their guardians, these athletes will be sanctioned for breaching the anti-doping regulations, in line with the sport’s regulations. It was a satisfied sports president who met news at Idrettens Hus. – Now we have worked throughout the weekend to find a solution to obtain consent. We have now achieved that, and we are very, very happy about that, says Berit Kjøll to news. Antidoping Norway has been given a deadline by WADA until 9 September to present the solution and a timetable for implementation. Had a solution not been in place by the deadline, ADNO could risk becoming “non-compliant”, which could lead to Norwegian exclusion from organizing international championships and participation in the Olympics and Paralympics.
