The 1er July 2024, between the two laps of the legislative elections where he brigated his renewal, and in full debate in France on the binationals, the deputy Daniel Grenon (now ex-RN) had declared: “There are people who are Maghreb, who have returned to power, in ministers etc. So, I feel that these people do not have their place in the high places. So. Well, afterwards, the binational Maghreb, he has his place in France. He has it. But not in the Hauts-Lieux ”.
Friday, May 2, Mr. Grenon was sentenced to a fine of 3,000 euros, in Sens (Yonne), for having made these remarks. He had pronounced them during a debate organized by the local newspaper The Republican Yonneby arousing a lively controversy until the national rally (RN).
The criminal court has accompanied the sentence of damages of 1,500 euros for each of the three civil parties, the movement against racism and for the friendship between the peoples (MRAP) of the Yonne, the League for Human Rights and the International League against racism and anti-Semitism.

His words “Do not come under racial hatred”had defended Daniel Grenon’s lawyer at the hearing, Jean-Marc Ponelle, evoking the political context at the time, in particular within the framework of the proposals of RN laws on binationality.
For his part, the interested party had struggled to clarify the meaning of his words. “If there is a conflict, the binational can decide to leave”said this 76 -year -old man.
