An American federal judge ordered, on Wednesday, April 30, the release of Mohsen Mahdawi, a Palestinian student involved in the Movement at Columbia University and arrested during his naturalization interview, in mid-April.

Born in a Palestinian refugee camp in the West Bank and holder of a “green card” of permanent resident in the United States since 2015, he had been arrested on April 14 by immigration agents in an office where he had come to an interview for the acquisition of American citizenship.

“I say it loud and clear to President Trump and his government: I am not afraid of you”he launched Wednesday before a Vermont court, after his release ordered by the courts pending a decision on the merits of his file.

This release is accompanied by conditions to reside in the Vermont and to go to New York only for his studies, to meet his lawyers, or to the express authorization of the judge.
