From school start 2025, students of 1-4 stages will have limited access to the Internet and apps on the school’s tablets and PCs. This is what the Oslo school writes in a press release. This means that students only have access to teaching materials made for teaching. Other content will be blocked on the students’ units, the municipality writes. “The reason we make these changes is, among other things, to avoid disorders in teaching, and to reduce the risk of the youngest students being exposed to harmful content,” says Division Director Trond Ingebretsen. Teachers can still provide access to the Internet to students if they need it as part of the teaching. City Council for Education, Julie Remen Midtgarden says this gives parents a greater opportunity to decide on the children’s network use.
