The police were notified of the discovery of the dead person at 10.29 on Thursday morning. – The police rushed to the scene, and due to the circumstances, the police are conducting investigations there now, says operations manager in the Innlandet police district, Øyvind Bakken to news. The dead person was found in a house at Biri in Gjøvik municipality – We were alerted by a neighbour, says police task leader Rigmor Sæther. Going wide The police are on the scene with large resources and there is, among other things, ongoing inquiries in the area. Police prosecutor Julie Dalsveen says they cannot say anything about what has happened yet. – We are keeping all possibilities open in terms of what caused this death, she says. Forensic technicians carry out their investigations and potential witnesses in the area are interviewed. – We have invested a lot of resources in order to work widely and extensively now initially. The police cannot yet say more about the person who was found dead. Next of kin have not been notified. Operations leader Sæther says that work is being done in several teams. They go to great lengths to secure evidence and find out what happened. – We are keeping all options open and the investigation will continue throughout the day, says Sæther.
