The two state-owned train companies, Flytoget and Vy, are thus negotiating each package of the so-called tenderloin in Norwegian railways. Flytoget believes they can make the train offer better than Vy, which runs there today. He announced in May that they were interested in these routes, and that they would call the train routes Bytoget so as not to cause confusion for travelers with Flytoget. – Our clear ambition is for customers to notice a difference from day one. We feel confident that many small measures will be able to make a big difference, says Engedal. The first package Østlandet 1, Vy was previously chosen as the preferred contracting party by the Norwegian Railway Directorate. Østlandet 1 involves train transport on Østfoldbanen/Follobanen as well as local trains Spikkestad/Asker–Lillestrøm and Stabekk–Ski. Østlandet 1 also has around 30 million travelers every year.
