Nothing helps. The devastating war waged by Israel in the Gaza Strip, in retaliation for the bloody attack in Hamas on October 7, 2023 on Hebrew territory, did not overcome the Islamist movement. Fifty-nine Israeli hostages, some of which are dead, are still detained in this territory. Angry, the families of these captives continue to denounce the refusal of the Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu, to engage in the second phase of the ceasefire and the danger that his attitude weighs on the life of their loved one in Gaza. And yet, the crucial question of the resumption of battles or the extension of the truce started on January 19 is not the subject of any real debate between Israeli parties. Benyamin Netanyahu and his far -right allies continue to stifle the national political scene, preventing the emergence of real opposition.

One of his main figures, ex-general Benny Gantz, at the head of the National Unity (right) party, who had joined the Israeli War Cabinet after October 7, before resigning with a crash eight months later, did not hesitate to give, on February 17, on channel 13, carte blanche to Benyamin Netanyahu to obtain the release of hostages. In the process, on February 22, this former chief of staff published for the first time with three other personalities of the anti-birthday camp-Yaïr Lapid (center), Yaïr Golan (left of Zionist) and Avigdor Lieberman (radical right)-a joint press release ensuring the Prime Minister of their “Total support” in operations for the return of hostages.
