Han Dong-hoon is stepping down as leader of South Korea’s ruling People’s Power Party (PPP). He has supported the impeachment of President and party member Yoon Suk-yeol and called on him to step down. Yoon is being impeached after declaring a military state of emergency and introducing a number of very strict measures, including censorship of the press and a ban on political activity. The state of emergency only lasted a few hours before it was lifted. Afterwards, many have asked Yoon to resign, and in addition to the impeachment case, Yoon is also being investigated. (NTB)
