Johannesen / news Split Trøndelag over Kjerkol Early in the nomination process for Ap in Nord-Trøndelag, it became clear that several large municipal groups wanted to oust Kjerkol. Then she was also rejected by the majority in the nomination committee, while the municipal team in Steinkjer turned around and wanted Kjerkol into the Storting anyway. The Labor Party in Trøndelag is in the process of finding out who will represent the party from Trøndelag after the parliamentary election next year. The party will come up with a list of candidates for Nord-Trøndelag and a list for Sør-Trøndelag. Because even if Trøndelag became a single county in 2018, Sør-Trøndelag and Nord-Trøndelag still each have their own electoral district. Ingvild Kjerkol announced that she is standing for re-election to the Storting. At the end of August, it became clear that Ingvild Kjerkol was completely omitted from the nomination list for both Verdal, Steinkjer, Namsos and Levanger Labor Party. In total, four municipal parties had Kjerkol as their top candidate: Stjørdal, Flatanger, Meråker and Frosta. The majority in the nomination committee in Trøndelag Ap, electoral district Nord-Trøndelag, left Ingvild Kjerkol on the list for the Storting election 2025. A majority consisting of four people had the following proposals: 1. Bente Estil (Lierne) 2. Vebjørn Gorseth (Steinkjer) 3. Stian Sagvold (Verdal) 4. Ann Inger Leirtrø (Stjørdal) The minority of three had Ingvild Kjerkol (Stjørdal) on top and Amund Hellesø (Nærøysund) in second place. Furthermore, Vebjørn Gorseth from Steinkjer followed, and mentioned Bentil Estil. When the municipal party was to give input to the nomination committee’s draft list for the Storting, it became clear that Steinkjer Ap would turn around and put Kjerkol at the top of the list. The same evening it became clear that Verdal Ap still does not have Kjerkol on its list. Tonight, the nomination committee in Ap Nord-Trøndelag has a meeting where they will agree on their final proposal for the Storting list. Who ends up at the top of the Storting list for the Labor Party in Sør-Trøndelag election will be finally decided on 30 November. Then a final list from both the Labor Party in North and South Trøndelag will be chosen. Giske can secure a place in the Storting After the Labor Party in Nord-Trøndelag has decided who they want in the Storting, it is Sør-Trøndelag’s turn. Eight out of nine members of the nomination committee and 14 out of 20 municipal teams want Per Olav Skurdal Hopsø in the Storting. But Trond Giske has the largest municipal parties behind him and the majority of votes if everyone votes as they have promised. In addition to Trondheim Ap, Giske has support in Røros, Oppdal and Malvik. Altogether, the municipal law has 71 delegates at the nomination meeting. Out of 133 delegates, each candidate needs 67 votes to get a majority and be elected to the Storting list. Published 30.11.2024, at 09.58 Updated 30.11.2024, at 10.53
