This is confirmed by an adviser in the State Nature Inspectorate (SNO), Simen Bredvold. The hunting dog was killed by the wolf on Saturday afternoon. The Norwegian Nature Inspectorate has had crews on site to examine the area and what was left of the dead dog. – We have examined it. We conclude that wolves have taken it, says Simen Bredvold. Did not see the attack It was the dog owner who found his dead dog after the attack, but that person did not see the attack itself. The dog was a male dog and one and a half years old. At the border between Åsnes municipality and Risberget, the dog is said to have been found killed. Happens occasionally Since 2000, 150 dogs have been injured by wolves. The last time a dog was killed by a wolf was last year at Brattåsen in Kongsvinger, an overview from Rovbase shows. The last attack in Åsnes was in 2022.
