Things are boiling in both Molde and Bergen before the elite series match at Aker stadium. A record number of Brann supporters have taken over Molde. Between 1,200 and 1,500 supporters took a train through Storgata this afternoon, estimates news’s reporter at the scene. Sales figures from MFK show that the away stands will be filled by around 2,000 in red. But according to the local newspaper Romsdals Budstikke, the people of Moldavia can expect as many as 2,500 people from Bergen to visit on the weekend. Around 21,900 inhabitants live in Molde city. This results in an increase in the population of around 10 per cent at the weekend. – Now I’m starting to get a little nervous. It’s going to be an absolutely insane fight, says head of the Fire Battalion, Erlend Vågane. Watch the video from the train in the main street in Molde: – I agree to population increase “any day”, and thousands of visitors on a cold November day are good for the wallets of the local industries. Many cities are probably envious of us now, says a satisfied mayor Trygve Grydeland (H). According to an overview of bars and nightlife from Moldepuls, there are around 9 bars and pubs in Molde. The Brann supporters have booked in at least four of them. This advertising poster was printed in Romsdal’s Budstikke before the weekend. Widerøe set up three extra routes between Bergen and Molde for the occasion, in addition to regular scheduled flights. All were sold out. – Bergen is our largest and most important airport and hub. Then it is fantastic to be able to represent the city between the seven mountains. At the same time, we give non-football-interested Moldense residents the opportunity to visit Bergen almost empty of Bergen residents, says Wange. On Friday, the snow caused trouble for one of the planes heading north. It has been problematic for many to get there due to the weather, but now they are in place in Molde and are ready for the match. In Bergen, preparations are therefore being made – in the famous Bergen style, for a folk festival at Torgallmenningen. With golden beer in the glass. – There is extra pressure on Brann, since an entire part of the country has already started drinking beer with gold flakes in it, says Molde coach Erling Moe with a well-known twinkle in his eye. Erling Moe is looking forward to quieting the Battalion. On Friday, he was in place for the last training session before the game, at a snow-covered Aker stadium. Photo: Roar Jonny Strøm / news He is nevertheless clear that Molde has something to play for. – We will try to silence the Bergen army tomorrow, and win. This will be an entertaining match, he says. – So you are going to cheat 2,500 Brann supporters for a golden celebration? – Nothing would have made me happier, Moe replies. I can hardly find words, says an excited Arne Scheie. The commentator legend plans to follow the match. Notably from his own, warm TV room. Scheie believes it is “typically Bergen” to take the victory in advance. – Nothing has been decided yet. I think it will be a very tough match, and it is no easy task to win gold, he says. Furthermore, he doubts that Bodø/Glimt will lose against Odd this weekend. Postponing DDE concert Someone who has already felt the weekend’s golden drama on their body is DDE It is a well-known fact that the rock group rarely says no to a party. Now the Trønder rockers hope to be part of the gold party when they take the Forum stage in Bergen on Saturday. Bjarne Brøndbo from DDE (tv) was in news’s radio studio on Friday together with guitarist Arne Egil Rånes. Photo: Brit Jorunn Svanes / news The concert was scheduled to start at 7 p.m. But now they are postponing it for half an hour. – Many of our audience will catch the football match. So then we had to adjust the timing a little, so that it is possible to get both parts, says Bjarne Brøndbo. This is the first time that the people of Trondheim have postponed a concert because of a football match. DDE also admits to news that it is Brann they are rooting for this weekend. – As true “Rosenburgers”, we love to hate Brann. So then we think that they are the ones who will be responsible for the series gold this year. As long as we get to provide the party music then, adds a laughing Brøndbo. The match started at 5pm.
