This is stated by the Swedish Security Service (Säpo) in a press release on Tuesday. The persons were arrested during a coordinated operation in the towns of Eskilstuna, Linköping and Strängnäs. According to Säpo’s statement, they suspect that a group has planned a terrorist attack in Sweden, and that this may have a connection to the Koran burning in Stockholm in January. It is assumed that the plans may be connected to violent Islamist extremism, and have links to international circles. Säpo says they judge it so that an assassination attempt was not “imminent”. They are sparse with the information, but tell Aftonbladet that the suspected crime can be linked to the terrorist organization IS.
