A traveling party of around 40 people had to be brought down from Gaustatoppen by helicopter on Friday evening. The Gaustabanen is standing due to a technical fault. It is unknown how long it will take before everyone is down. All the people who had the opportunity to do so were encouraged to take action. – Those who remain have various disabilities or are families with small children, she says. Photo: Tipser – No big deal General manager of Gaustabanen, Halvor Haukaas, confirms that there is a technical error on the track. – Then we have to stop. We have ordered a helicopter to make sure they get back down without waiting too long. This is no big deal, he says. Haukaas currently does not know the cause of the error or how long it will take to rectify. The staff at Gaustatoppen are praised for taking good care of the tourists. – Incredibly nice and caring people. We first sat for an hour in a cold tunnel, but now we have been allowed into a canteen and now we are fine, said the woman in the traveling party just before 8pm on Friday evening.
