4 out of 5 Russian soldiers away from the border with Norway – news Troms and Finnmark

17 September 2023 at 10:52 The chief of defense: 4 out of 5 Russian soldiers away from the border with Norway The number of Russian soldiers at the Norwegian border is now 20 percent of what it was before the invasion of Ukraine, says Norway’s chief of defense. Chief of Defense Eirik Kristoffersen made the estimate when NATO’s defense chiefs were gathered in Oslo on Saturday. The defense has noticed that the activity on the Russian side of the border is less. – Along our border with Russia, there are perhaps 20 percent or fewer of the number of soldiers there used to be before 24 February 2022, says Kristoffersen. He believes it is proof that Vladimir Putin does not feel threatened by the NATO presence in Norway. – If he thought that we threatened Russia, he would not have moved his troops to Ukraine to fight the war there, says Kristoffersen.
