It is a milder punishment that the prosecutor asked for, namely 20 years’ detention. The 34-year-old night watchman at the hospice has been sentenced to 17 years in prison. The prosecutor had asked for 20 years. The third main defendant, a 24-year-old man, has been sentenced to nine years in prison. The prosecutor asked for 14 years. Two people have also been convicted of removing evidence. They must have packed equally in bags before these were driven and dumped at Osavatn in a popular hiking area in Bergen. From nine years in prison to acquittal After the verdict, the lawyer appealed to the 24-year-old man. On Monday, the verdict came from the Court of Appeal, which acquits him. Lawyer Jon Anders Hasle, has together with Magnus Torfoss defended the 24-year-old. Hasle tells news that the case has an inhuman burden for the client. The 24-year-old was originally charged with two murders. In the district court, he was acquitted for one thing. Now he is acquitted of both. – It was this result we had expectations of. But still, it was a great relief for my client when this verdict came.
