2,000 chairs for HamKam’s home ground Briskeby in Hamar are gone without a trace – news Innlandet – Local news, TV and radio

The grandstand on one long side of the Briskeby grass pitch in Hamar has been demolished and rebuilt. Before the weekend, it was ready to install 2,000 chairs. But no chairs came. Delayed? Nobody knows. Sent by mistake? No one knows anything about that either. Eventually HamKam found out that no one knows if the chairs have even been produced. – They never showed up. I don’t know anything more than that, says general manager of HamKam, Bent Svele. GONE: The seats never arrived. Photo: Frode Meskau / news The away fans hit The plan was that the new stand should be ready for the league match between HamKam and Lillestrøm on the 2nd Whitsunday. – It should really have looked like it did against Lillestrøm last year. We had made plans together with LSK that they should get one half here, which they had at the series opener last year. Then over 1,500 away supporters came to Briskeby. Now they only got 250 places. Because of the missing chairs. – It is sad for the framework of the match. It is sad for the LSK supporters who had more miserable conditions than we had imagined, says Bent Svele. SAD: General manager of HamKam, Bent Svele, thinks it is sad that the away supporters did not get enough seats. Photo: Stein S Eide / news HamKam captain Aleksander Melgalvis also thinks it was boring that one long side had to be empty in this match as well. – We think it’s fun to play when people sit on the “old, new seat”. So it will be good to get it finished, says Melgalvis. No one knows. It was Hamar Arbeiderblad that mentioned the mystery of the missing chairs first. Frode Alhaug in Briskeby Prosjekt AS, could only sigh in despair. – We do not know what has happened, he says to news. The chairs were ordered in February and should have been fully assembled by now. – That has not happened, and of course they are working to get the chairs here, but we do not know more. BRISKEBY STADION: HamKam played here against Lillestrøm on Monday. The stadium is being built. Photo: Frode Meskau / news – This will be resolved here, but a little later than desired, says Alhaug. He says that their contractor has hired a lawyer on the case. In the meantime, HamKam has both had to endure harassment and criticism, including in social media. – Yes, they just have to do that. But that is completely wrong. We are a third party here, and innocent in this. It is neither us who order seats nor us who build anything in the world, says Bent Svele. A short way to the police The reason the grandstand has been demolished and rebuilt is that a new police station is being built directly behind the Briskeby grass field. The new tribune will be built together with the police station. HamKam are only tenants of a municipal facility. The developer has ordered the chairs from a third party. SEATS: There are seats, but not enough. Photo: Frode Meskau / news General manager Bent Svele says this third party has always promised that the chairs would arrive as agreed. – They have said all along that the seats are on their way and that they will arrive as planned, so that they would have time to install them for the match against LSK, which was yesterday, says Svele. Could have sold out Now new chairs have to be ordered. Bent Svele in HamKam thinks they lost a good deal of money on the fade as well. Had they been able to open more fields, he believes well over 1,700 Lillestrøm supporters would have bought tickets for the match. – I’m pretty sure we could sell out the arena here.
