– A 19-year-old woman died after she was involved in an accident with a truck when she was roller-skiing south of Jørpeland today, says police attorney Sveinung Andersen, according to a press release. The police were notified of the accident at 08:41. – The woman was transported to Stavanger University Hospital by air ambulance. Unfortunately, life was not there to save, says Andersen. The sequence of events is currently unknown to the police. – The police are currently interviewing witnesses, and forensics technicians are at the scene of the accident and will work there throughout the day, Andersen says. Suspect negligent driving The driver of the lorry has been deprived of his driving licence, and is therefore charged with a breach of section 3 of the Road Traffic Act, which refers to negligent driving. – In order to seize a driver’s license, there must be reasonable grounds to suspect that there has been negligent driving.
