It was Iris Omarsdottir who was suddenly alone with the goalkeeper, and she lobbed the ball beautifully into the net. So it was a battle again – for ten minutes. For Gaupset was really in great form, and just before she was replaced she increased to 3-1. Thus, she left the field with two goals and one assist. But it may look like Svava Gudmundsdóttir was offside in the lead. In that case, the target should not have stood. – It must be offside, I can’t see anything else, commented Torp. The last time the club lifted the prestigious trophy was back in 1995, i.e. 27 years ago. They were also losing finalists in last year’s final against Vålerenga, where they lost 1–2 in the end. Stabæk, for its part, has won the cup several times since then, and won the last time in 2014. Brann were big favorites before the match, and they have been Norway’s supremely best team this season.
