One afternoon at the beginning of February this year, the police received a report of a stabbing in Greenland in Oslo. In advance, there had been a confrontation between five to ten people. There, the normal sentence is just over one year. The public prosecutor says that the punishment will be at a lower level in this case because the defendant is so young. At the beginning of August, the 16-year-old was detained. But shortly afterwards the district court wanted to release him. There were no available prison places for children and young people. The police appealed to the Court of Appeal. They were successful. Since then he has been in custody. A long list The boy must answer in court for far more than the stabbing. Together with a friend of the same age, he is also charged with grievous bodily harm against a man in his 20s outside Max Burger in Greenland in June this year. The victim was stabbed and beaten with a bat. The background must have been that two of them had explained themselves to the police. He is also accused of contacting them despite having a restraining order. The attorney for the three sisters does not want to comment on the case. The 16-year-old is also charged with assaulting a police officer during a search. According to the indictment, he hit the police officer in the upper body and tore off his communications equipment. Especially because of the record concerning attempted murder. – We believe that trying to kill another person with a knife in a public place is very serious. He says the indictment is extensive. But emphasizes that not everything the two 16-year-olds are accused of is equally serious. – But these are figures who are well known to the police here in Oslo. So it has sort of accumulated quite a bit over some time. The evidence in the case is both witness statements and technical evidence such as video surveillance and examinations of mobile phones.
