Nicolaisen (58) was killed with 13 stab wounds. The defendant believes that he acted out of necessity. The court rejects emergency guardianship and writes in the judgment: “By his actions, the defendant has massively exceeded the limits of emergency guardianship, and he can clearly be blamed for his choice of action.” Defense attorney Tore Angen tells news that the defendant should think twice before appealing the verdict to the Court of Appeal. Nicolaisen was from Tverrlandet outside Bodø and was at work in Trøndelag when he was killed. The defendant has also been sentenced to pay compensation to cohabitants and children of the deceased in excess of NOK 2.5 million.
