A scheduled bus has driven into Vahl school in Oslo. Abdi Fatah Mohamad witnessed the incident. He helped the injured who got out of the bus. – I saw several injured people get out of the bus. I helped them. Then the police came, says Fatah Mohamad to news. The police were quickly notified of the incident. – At 10pm we received a report of a traffic accident, with a bus that had driven off the road and into a building by the school, says incident leader Sven Bjelland. No one has been charged in the case. It is too early to say anything precise about what has happened, says task leader Bjelland. – We work with technical investigation. Examines the bus and the roadway and questions those on board and people around, says Bjelland. Transported to hospital and emergency room Six people have been sent to hospital, and six others to emergency room. The police have no indication that the incident was anything other than an accident. – It was unclear when we arrived. All the injured were passengers on the bus, says Bjelland. The Oslo 110 central reported that several people were trapped. These have now been released. – We are on site with a total of seven cars. It is a dramatic message, so we are sending a lot of resources right away, says duty commander Eirik Fredriksen of the Oslo Fire and Rescue Service (OBRE) to news. The Accident Investigation Board notified The police received a call about the incident from civil police who were in the area. The police were not involved in the incident. – Our priority is to help the injured and transport them for further treatment. After that, there is an investigation into the incident that applies, says operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter to news. The National Accident Investigation Board and the Accident Analysis Group of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration have been notified of the incident, the police said. He works at Sterling Sports Club, which is located in the area, and ran there to collect first aid equipment. The bus company investigates Managing director Bent Kjersem-Drageset of Connect Bus City Norway confirms that it was one of their buses that was involved in the accident. – We are working to get an overview of the course of events, and handle this in line with our routines for emergency incidents, so we can hope that we will eventually get more clarity on what has happened, he says to news.
